Human Word Analogy

HUMAN-WORD ANALOGY  Humans come as words are written. There are different ways aspects of judging a word similar to how we would judge a human. Each word is written differently. some are written slowly and italicized. Some are written boldly. Some are capitalized. Some words are not lucky and we make a mistake. We falter them causing them not to come out perfect. But this is just their aesthetic beauty. Their personality is judged by - the alphabet they contain. Each letter represents a particular characteristic. For example, if the letter 'n' represents being an introvert that means the word 'in' is an introvert. But the amount of quantity also matters. for example, the word 'inner' is more of an introvert than 'in' as it has two n's. Just like that, every word is different. Even two words written in the same way are different. Sometimes due to the way they are written, due to their aesthetics. Sometimes the words are called by similar sounds but ha...

National Security could be more important than Data Privacy Laws

Image
Data Privacy Laws are more important than National Security Good morning everyone! Today, I wanted to go against this motion i.e National Security could be more important than Data Privacy Laws. This is just my side of the argument that I wanted to put forward for discussion and I am in no way forcing my thoughts about this topic on anyone. We need to realize that privacy is a natural right. Lack of privacy has a chilling effect on original thought and experimentation. If I knew that the government could monitor each and every step of mine then I am less likely to express my dissents. And this goes against the very backbone of democracy. Secondly, surveillance of the people will lead to asymmetric privacy, where the rich and mighty would still be able to maintain privacy but the activities of the masses will be surveilled. This asymmetry will keep the actions of rich and mighty opaque whereas actions of masses will be subjected to minute scrutiny. Furthermore, to establish why Data Pri...

Orientalism behind the curtains

Cultural appropriation I dream of Jeannie Today I wanted to discuss cultural appropriation in one of the most famous series of its time i.e I dream of Jeanie. I Dream of Jeannie was written by Sidney Sheldon from 1965-70. The show is about American astronaut Major Nelson, who accidentally rescues a genie after finding her magical bottle on a deserted island. Although Nelson sets Jeannie free, she immediately falls in love with him and chooses to stay with her new “master.” It was one of the most viewed series of its time and was also nominated for an Emmy. And even today ‘I dream of Jeannie’ attracts many viewers. But sadly, the show was full of stereotypes and showed negative versions of Arabs and Muslims. One survey that was conducted on the show by Katherine bullock shows that Muslims are most often offended by the show whereas the Non-Muslims didn’t notice any negative stereotyping. So what were the stereotypes in “I dream of Jeannie”? Scholars have stated that early Hollywood ...

We Women have no Worth

Image
We Women have no Worth We, Women, have no Worth So don’t you dare try to convince me that We are smart, strong, and Confident Because at the end of the day, We aren’t successful in any possible way and we shouldn’t lie to society by advocating that we Have more merit than others see So be rest assured that we will not let others forget that we are Apathetic, Bossy, and doltish And You can’t convince me otherwise by saying that we are intelligent, bold, and courageous Because no matter what We don’t deserve a chance at equality And as women, we should not try to persuade others that we are as good as men Because every time we look in the mirror we always think Do we deserve the same rights as men? ( Now read upside Down)

Freya- A warrior of love

Image
Freya- A warrior of love Sister to Frey, god of Fairyland. A daughter to The almighty God of Summer, Niord, and to the goddess of winter Skadi. The most beautiful and best beloved of goddesses Freya Was the fair Northern goddess of beauty, passion, and naturally, love. She was the belle of Asgard and this golden-haired and blue-eyed goddess seemed to charm every god who encountered her. As I  described Freya, who is also considered the goddess of beauty, an image must have formed in your mind. An image of a soft, pleasure-loving female who is charming but frail. I am here to tell you that's as far from the truth as it can get. The Ancient Northern races believed that Freya had very martial tastes and that as Valfreya she often led the battle maidens, Valkyrs to war. She was respon...
